Cricket Scotland introduce Secondary Schools 20/20 Competition

In the spring/summer school term in 2009 there will be National Schools Competitions at two different age groups.

There will be a Primary Schools competition using the Kwik cricket (click here for the rules on Kwik cricket) form of the game for school teams targeted at Primary 6 and below, there will also be a Secondary Schools hardball competition based on the exciting 20/20 format for school teams of school years S3 and below.

Both of these competitions will be open to state and independent schools.

This will hopefully attract further interest in the game, and to provide a competitive outlet for school teams and ultimately finding the best school teams in the country.

Both of the competitions will be working on a regional format leading towards a finals day later on in the summer.

This is an exciting development for schools cricket and for cricket in general in Scotland and will no doubt provide a great level of excitement and produce some magical cricketing moments.

If you or your school would be interested in entering either of the tournaments mentioned above please contact Kari Anderson, SportCentral Regional Cricket Manager on 01786 432348
