FORTH VALLEY UNDER 11

 Festival Report 2007

The Forth Valley UN 11 team played a number of games on the 8th August 2007 at Dumferline.  The weather was fantastic and allowed the team to play three games.

In the first game the Forth Valley team had a great win against Dundee and won by 63 runs.  There were some great performances with both bat and ball but a great team effort resulted in this win.  Good batting displays from Jake Jamieson, Ruari MacPherson and Angus McIntosh.  The bowlers were ably lead by Alan Chandrachud and Jake Jamieson.

The second game against Angus was a close affair with the Angus team winning by 4 runs.  In this game the team showed a bit of inexperience in the batting stacks but superb bowling by Alan Chanrachud and Callum Jamieson nearly resulted in an unlikely win after our batting.

The last game was against a strong Fife team and our batting was a great deal better this time with no run outs unlike the previous game.The bowling and fielding were also top notch and we lost this one by 13 runs.

Special mention must be made of the wicket keeping of Will Cartwright who performed superbly in the heat.

It was a great experience for all the players and will add to their knowledge of playing competitive hard ball games against strong opposition.
