Unfortunately, a change of bowling from the scoreboard end brought a double breakthrough for the Dutch. Rohit Shah bowled Graham a good ball outside his off stump and he knicked it to the keeper who took an excellent, although controversial, catch.
This sparked a collapse of the middle order with Charlie and Scott both falling cheaply. George and Jonesy stuck around for a while, creating a good partnership until George had a rush of blood and tried to launch Nikki Vielle out the park and turned round to see his stumps on the ground. Peter Hamilton and Jonesy again created a partnership, but both fell in quick succession with Jonesy being judged LBW to one that hit him above the pads, and Peter spooning a soft catch to cover point. Chris and Jamie managed to put together a partnership of more than 50 balls, to see us through to the end of our 50 overs with the score at 104 for 9. After a gutsy performance in the field and some good chat, the game was taken by the Dutch. The simple fact was that we didn’t score enough runs and we bowled too many extras.
