Governing Body

The governing body for cricket in Scotland is Cricket Scotland, which was formed in 1908 as the Scottish Cricket Union, but re-structured in 2001. Cricket in Scotland is in a time of change. Cricket Scotland has been developing progressively and there is a sense that the sport could be on the verge of a breakthrough in Scotland.

Our Mission:

  • To build stronger partnerships with clubs, schools, and local authorities and to create new pathways to support our player’s progress through the game at each level.

Our Vision:

  • A country where cricket is widely regarded as our national summer sport.

  • Played in increasing numbers, in playgrounds, parks, by boys and girls, men and women, irrespective of race, religion or social background

  • Having a healthy club structure based around family and community encourages lifelong participation in cricket in a safe and positive environment

  • A dynamic sport with sound structures providing clear pathway for talented players to maximise their potential, while receiving the necessary support to enable our national teams to compete successfully on the world stage.
