Athlete Summer Development Camp

Twenty five athletes attended the second annual SportCentral Athlete Development Camp for athletes with a disability.

Coaches in athletics, swimming and football put the athletes through their paces in the three day camp at Stirling University.

All athletes received six coaching sessions in their sport.      Over the three days of the camp they benefitted from attending the following workshops:- diet and nutrition, core stability and a workshop delivered by Paralympian Kevin Simpson who spoke about the importance in goal setting, motivation and mental toughness whilst training and competing in your sport.

Most athletes are members of SportCentral Disability Sport Squads who train weekly in their squads and some of whom are members of community sports clubs.

Three of the group were trialists at the camp and will be invited to attend the weekly training sessions.  If you wouild like information on sporting opportunities for children with disabilities please contact SportCentral on 01324 590 720.
