Forth Valley Success at National Boccia CompetitionA Forth Valley Disability Sport team of sixteen children from schools competed in the Scottish Disability Sport National Boccia Competition in Easterhouse on Saturday. All sixteen children who attend schools in Falkirk, Stirling and Clackmannanshire competed against players from all over Scotland including Dundee, Perth and Aberdeenshire. Although competition was fierce from the Dundee and Perth contingency Forth Valley returned with a medal tally of 6. Forth Valley dominated the junior sections with Clackmannanshire competitors taking 1st and 3rd place in the physical disabilities section and Falkirk competitors completely ran away with 1st to 3rd place in the learning disabilities section. A special congratulation goes to Megan Dawson – Farrell who in only her first Boccia event became the National junior champion. She defeated the existing champion to win the event; other notable performances were of Jamie Fotheringham, who again in his first event finished third. A big well done to both participants.
