Garden Trampoline Safety

British Gymnastics has issued a safety and guidance notice on the use of garden trampolines. You can view the 2 page notice by clicking here

The notice gives practical advice on protecting trampoline users’ safety and most notable safety guidelines are:

  • Never allow more than one person on a trampoline at a time (three quarters of all injuries occur from ignoring this) Garden Trampoline
  • Locate the trampoline safely, i.e. not near fencing, trees, play equipment, on a slope, etc.
  • Clearly set rules for the children/user on safe trampoline use
  • Avoid skills that involve being upside down
  • Ensure the user stops bouncing before jumping off the trampoline
  • Always ensure an adequate number and age of spotters are present around the edges of the trampoline
  • Most importantly, have your child trained properly!
