Coaches must be qualified to Level 2 Coach before they are able to run their own club. Below this coaches can be qualified at Level 1 Assistant where they can look after a group of beginner gymnasts under the supervision of a Level 2 Coach or higher. Depending on the discipline of gymnastics a coach can become qualified up to Level 5. Coaches must be 16 to enrol on a Level 1 course, and must be 17 to enrol on a level 2 (with their qualification only being granted when they reach 18). Central has over 70 qualified gymnastics coaches. The majority of coaches are recruited and developed through the gymnastics clubs who have an enthusiastic and motivated workforce and volunteer group.
