Coaching

SportCentral and Scottish Rugby are focussed on developing an inspired coaching workforce valued and motivated to help deliver a healthier, active and successful region. This along with Scottish Rugby's Strategic Targets aimed at increasing both the quality and quantity of coaches across the region gives real focus to the Coach Development plan.

To increase the quantity of coaches in Central we will strive to achieve the following:

  • 50% increase in the quantity and quality of coaches working in the community game (62 by 2009)
  • Support existing coaches during transition to UKCC
  • Implement the local delivery of UKCC courses
  • Provide coaching update opportunities for all coaches

To increase the quality of coaches in Central we will endeavour to support coaches after their initial coach education with coaching update opportunities and coach mentoring opportunities.
